Scripture: Luke 2: 1- 35
Luke 2: 1 – 7
Our
Lord and King was born in a manger. That is a humble beginning. The Bible in
Job 8:7 says though your beginning be small your latter end shall be greatly
increased. God has a beginning for every one of us and he usually starts from
the very bottom and gradually takes us to the top. Therefore, it is important
that we do not despise where we are right now because we know that the Lord
will greatly increase our latter end. Phil. 2: 6 – 11.

how believers can appreciated their present state while trust God for their
future greatness.
Luke 2: 8 – 20
The
company of angels appeared praising God. Likewise the shepherds gave glory to
God for Christ’s birth. It’s all about praising God.
From the very beginning of Jesus birth, there was praise. Many Christians go to God asking for their needs but forget to praise and worship Him for who He is. (e.g. The Lord’s Prayer, Math. 6:9...). God loves His praise and worship therefore we should keep it flowing, bearing in mind that it has been there from the very beginning.

Luke 2: 21 – 35
Luke 2: 21 – 35
Simeon
was not only righteous and devout but also a very old man who was filled with
the Holy Spirit. Bible says he was waiting to see the Messiah and was lead by
the Holy Spirit to the temple to see Jesus. As an old man, he had seen it all
but yet he waited on God to fulfill his promise. Many of us are not as old as
Simeon but we are very impatient with God. We want our promises fulfilled
instantly, forgetting that as you wait on the Lord, he renews our strength.
(Isa. 40:31).
Discuss
how believers can patiently wait on God like Simeon did.
