The 3 Levels of Spiritual Warfare

There are various offensive weapons we have as Christians. We discover how acts like praise and Worship, prayer, the blood of Jesus can be a very powerful effective tool for every Christian.

INTRODUCTION

In our lesson today we are going to consider the various levels of warfare where we can apply the weapons we studied about in our last lesson.

THE 3 LEVELS OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE

1.   THE HEAVENLIES: There are basically three heavens namely the sky/ firmaments, the second heavens and the third heavens. Satan and some of his heavenly demons reside in the seconds heavens where as God resides in the third heaven. Whenever God sends answers to prayer request to his children from his abode in the third heavens, Satan and his cohorts in the second heavens can fight against it. We therefore have a duty to continue praying and taking charge of the authorities in the heavens. Daniel 10:10-21, Ephesians 2:2

Discussion.

Based on Daniel`s example, how would you ensure that the forces of the air do not hinder answers to your prayers?

2.   THE BELIEVERS MIND: Our mind is the place where most of our personal battles go on. The bible teaches us to be hopeful, steadfast, diligent etc in our walk with God; all these virtues are birthed and nurtured in the mind.
When Satan wants to attack us He usually hits us in our minds first. By attacking our mind He is able to take control and unseat all the virtues that keep the believer going. He replace hope, steadfastness diligence etc with depression, frustration, worry, lust, fear, discouragement. Satan sometimes throws ideas and thoughts that are not of God into the mind of the believer. When the believer goes into this state in his/her mind he / she becomes vulnerable and Satan can attack and easily defeat the believer.

     2 Cor. 10:3-6, 2 Cor. 4: 3-4

What can you do to ensure that your thoughts and ideas can guarantee victory against Satan in battle?

3.   IN THE LOCAL CHURCH: Another form of warfare that Satan wages is in the local church. He does this by causing division, strife and confusion in church. When the church is divided we become weak and unable to stand against Satan and his demons, Satan then gets the upper hand and is able to attack the church.

Little gossips, hear says, backbiting and false rumors could be the source of these divisions in church.

How will you handle a member of your church who keeps telling you negative things about others in church?

CASE STUDY: The story of Mr. Alabi

Mr. Alabi is in his elements again, this time round he claims he doesn`t see the need to pay tithes because he does not believe in tithing. As a group please discuss how you would advice Mr. Alabi.
